Oxfordshire 500 is based on the idea that a group of members (who are anonymous to each other) pay a very small amount of money each month that collectively turns into a small donation to a local person, group or cause in the county.    It provides a very targeted £500 gift each month that could make a lot of difference to a family or community group that is struggling in some way.   The person or people getting the award are nominated and voted on by the members of Oxfordshire 500 who are also monthly contributors. 

Since November 2021 Oxfordshire 500 has given monthly gifts of at least £500.  Please look at past donations on the History page.

We have given two donations in August.  The first to a family of four with a seven year old who is autistic and non verbal who needs an ipad or something similar to communicate with his family and secondly to a mother with a three year old who has fled domestic abuse.  She has been offered some housing but it is totally unfurnished with no carpets or white goods.
